Welcome to Sri Balaji Alayam

Lord Vishnu is revered as the Supreme Lord by many Hindus, and his most sacred pilgrimage site in India is Sri Venkateswara in Andhra Pradesh's Tirupati, where he is affectionately known as Balaji. In the United States, one of the earliest prominent temples is the Sri Balaji Aalayam in Frisco, Texas, where Sri Venkateswara is honored by American Hindu pilgrims.

The Sri Balaji Aalayam temple is a testament to the power of divine intervention. Despite being a long-held vision, it was ultimately the deity itself that chose Frisco as its site. The temple's crowning jewel is the Balaji Moorthi, a masterpiece carved from a rare Krishna Shila stone discovered in the hills near Mahabalipuram. The discovery of the stone was a momentous occasion, marked by a specific muhurtam and a bell-like sound that resonated through the air. The Moorthi was crafted by three skilled stapatis, who brought the likeness of the Tirumala temple Balaji to life. The temple's architecture is rooted in the Vaikhanasa Agama tradition, featuring a garbha gruha, artha mandapa, and mukha mandapam. The temple's tradition is based on the Tirumala Sampradayam, established by Vikhanasa Maharshi.

According to the Vaikhanasa Agamas, Venkateshwara is represented by five deities (berams), collectively known as the Pancha beramulu in Telugu. These five deities are placed in the Garbha griha under Ananda Nilayam:

1. Moolavirat (Chief deity) or Dhruva Beram: This deity is the main source of energy for the temple, depicted in a standing posture with four arms holding shanka, chakra, in Varada posture, and in the Kati posture.

2. Bhoga Srinivasa or Kautuka Beram: A small one-foot pancha loha moorthi. Bhoga Srinivasa is placed near the left foot of Moolavirat, always connected to the main deity by the holy Sambandha Kroocha, and receives daily sevas on behalf of Moolavar.

3. Ugra Srinivasa or Snapana Beram: This deity represents the fearsome aspect of Venkateshwara and remains inside the sanctum sanctorum. It is carried out on a procession only once a year, on Kaishika Dwadasi, before sunrise, and receives daily abhishekam on behalf of Moolavirat.

4. Malayappa Swami or Utsava Beram: This processional deity is always flanked by the idols of his consorts, Sridevi and Bhudevi. Malayappa receives veneration on all festivals and special occasions.

5. Koluvu Srinivasa or Bali Beram: Representing the guardian deity of the temple, Koluvu Srinivasa presides over its financial and economic affairs. Daily Koluvu seva is held in the morning, where the previous day's offerings and accounts are presented to the deity.

The temple also houses other deities, including Sridevi, Bhudevi, Trimukha Ganapati, Marakata Shivalingam, Panchamukha Anjaneya, Rama Parivar, Triruchandoor Murugan, and Navagraha with their consorts. The temple is preparing for Maha Kumbhabhishekam and is seeking support from devotees for the moorthi pratishtapana and daily operations.
